April Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza!

April Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza!

About This Campaign

On Saturday April 21st Goodwill is participating in the Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza! Goodwill has been present at this event several times now and it’s always a blast! Overland Park gathers all kinds of organizations that accept all kinds of materials to offer a one-stop recycling shop for its citizens.

In October 2017, you recycled 105,000 pounds of electronics,;62,000 pounds of paper; two semi trailers of housewares, clothing, furniture and books; more than 400 pairs of glasses; 18 band instruments; more than 150 bicycles; 900 pairs of shoes; hundreds of pounds of fabric and more than 80 mattresses. Items donated to Goodwill will be sold at our stores to raise funds for our mission. Plus, these items won't end up in a landfill. Win-win!

Sign up to support sustainability and workforce development. As a Donation Drive Ambassador, you'll greet donors, help unload cars, sort donations, thank donors, and distribute donation receipts. Bonus: Breakfast and lunch are provided.

Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas

Campaign to Support Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas

Goodwill empowers people with disadvantages and different abilities to earn and keep employment through individualized programs and services.  For more than 120 years, Goodwill has provided services in and around Greater Kansas City.  90¢ of every dollar Goodwill spends supports LOCAL programs and services like Quest Academy which gives individuals with barriers to employment a real-life work experience and soft skills to enter the workforce, GoodWORKS Career Resource Centers, which provide free career exploration assistance and is open to the public, and the Career Impact Program that pairs individuals with different abilities with career navigators and career coaches to succeed in the workplace.

Goodwill is a leader in sustainability, annually diverting 15 million pounds of computers, paper, clothing and textiles from area landfills, recovering the value through resale and recycle. As a member of Goodwill Industries International, we are a part of the world's largest and most successful network to provide employment and training services for people with different abilities.
